We left Mui Ne after 8 days heading north to Nha Trang. The bus driver seemed a little bored. We are in motion in this photo. The driver steered like this for a while. The good thing? Roads were crappy so he couldn't go much more than 50 km an hour.
And hey, who needs shoes? Or flip flops in the driver's case.
Wonderful scenery along the way. There are large sand dunes in the area.
This red earth stood out too.
Further along were rice paddies though.
Salt works. That's a lot of salt.
This is a Cham Tower. The Cham culture flourished in the 9th and 10th centuries I think, contemporary with the builders of Angkor Wat. But there are still Cham people living in Vietnam.
As with all the coastal areas fishing is big business.
We had a great hotel on the beach. The night time view was wonderful and as you can see on the right, they have gone to great effort to create park like space on the beachfront. These are public areas.
As was the view out to sea. I enjoyed a swim on the beach - which was gorgeous. Wonderful sand, cool water and nothing to sting me.
Street scape lighting with motorbikes.
We never did take a cyclo trip. They do have customers occasionally.
We needed haircuts and found this salon on an alley. Note the chair out front where we sat to wait has a board for a seat. The cushion long gone.
Geordie's haircut was 40,000 dong ($2.00).
I paid 60,000 because I needed a mustache trim too.
There are street stalls everywhere. These portable stalls make sandwiches. I'm not sure which parts of the pig and cow they use. But they eat a lot of bread. Note the basket of baguettes at the bottom left. And yes, a face mask is de riguer street wear.
An impromptu cooking area on the street.
And coffee made with flair. Although coffee is grown in the country and exported, we found that coffee is often more expensive here than in Vancouver.
